Throughout September, we held our annual Back-to-School Nights for grades K-12. Back-to-School Night is an evening where we welcome students and their families into our buildings to get to know our teachers and staff, explore our classrooms and facilities, and learn about the curriculum, daily routines, and Toro expectations we have for our students. 

Parent/guardian engagement in their child’s academic journey is vital, and Back-to-School Night is an important way to build the partnership between school and home. When parents are informed about their child’s day-to-day schedule and what they are learning in class, they can more effectively support their learning outside of school hours. We believe that strong communication between families and school staff helps us all work together to support our students and set them up for academic success. 

An exciting addition to our Back-to-School night schedule this year was our Community Resource Fair, where families had the opportunity to connect with community organizations and learn about local resources and opportunities available to them. More than 10 local organizations were represented at the fair, including Esperanza, Philadelphia Fire Department, SquashSmarts, Timoteo Sports, Comhar, Saint Joseph’s University, Aspira, Vanguard, and more! We love building bridges between our school, our families, and our community, and look forward to continuing that work throughout the rest of the school year.
