After graduating from Esperanza Academy, I went to Cheyney University of PA. Cheyney is the nation’s first and oldest historically black college and university (HBCU). During my time at Cheyney, I had the opportunity to hold multiple leadership positions. I served as Mister Cheyney University for 2020-2021, joined Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, was the President of the Keystone’s Honors Society, was a Resident Advisor, and much more. After graduating from Cheyney University, I moved to Washington, DC where I got a start in my career in Property Management. I worked as a Leasing Agent and was promoted to Leasing Manager within 3 months.

I am currently back in Philadelphia working as a Regional Assistant Property Manager in the Roxborough Region. I am starting my graduate studies this fall at West Chester University. I am studying to get a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

My time at EACS prepared me for the real world and the rest of my life. The education I received helped me in college, and I was able to continue my leadership path. I would not be where I am today if it were not for the quality education I got at EACS. My advice for current high school students is to work hard while you are young. It’s better to spend your 20s learning new skills, getting an education, getting work experience that will set you up for life, and finding who you are. If you work hard in your 20s, the rest of your life will be a breeze! Keep going, and never give up. It is okay to find new interests, new people, and new hobbies. Just be a good person! Make sure to make time for self-care and fun also.
