Alliyah D. Maduro is a faith and lifestyle digital content creator. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA to parents of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent. She graduated with her B.A in Digital Communications and Social Media.
“I am a huge note taker and love writing in journals. It’s my getaway and my way of connecting/reflecting on my faith,” said Alliyah Maduro, an Esperanza Academy alumnus of 2016. She recently released her own journal called, “Her Faith Notes,” a place for women to take notes during Bible studies and sermons. Maduro says that note-taking has been instrumental in helping her faith journey. She believes that journaling is key for mental health, and personal and spiritual growth. Upon the journal’s release, it debuted as #1 in Amazon under New Releases in Literary Diaries and Journals. She received many messages from women appreciating her work and expressing their desire for a journal like the one she created.
And while the young author is making headlines with her journal, this is not her first entrepreneurial launch. She also created a business with her younger sister selling jewelry and inspiring women. “My sister and I manage everything in Latinasinfaith.Co from digital marketing, to shipping and even building the website from scratch. We learned so much and Latinasinfaith.Co is not even a year old yet. I decided to bring my younger sister along so she can learn how to work for what she wants. I never had anyone around my age to look up to or get advice from growing up and that’s what I want to be for her!”
Aside from her natural talent and eye for design, Maduro has a background in social media marketing. After she graduated from Esperanza Academy, she attended Cabrini University to pursue a degree in Digital Communications and Social Media. Writing for the school newspaper, becoming the paper’s Social Media Editor, hosting events to educate students on social justice issues, and traveling to Guatemala her senior year all contributed to her busy college schedule. After crossing the graduation finish line, she launched her career with a new job at Al Día as their Events/Marketing Coordinator.
Her college journey is inspirational to many students looking to find their way after high school. She told us, “I feel like sometimes you just have to take every opportunity that comes your way because at the end you always win. Whether it’s a lesson or a blessing. I am proud to be an Alum of a school who gives people like me the chance to become more than just a stereotype but also a mentor for younger generations. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for the staff of Esperanza Academy.”
